The GMEF Enrichment Scholarship Award
In Memory of Connie Sicard

Constance Sicard served as a member and friend of the Gill-Montague Education Fund from 2006 to 2012.  She had a passion for our cause to provide student enrichment and promote public education.

Connie, a graduate of Turners Falls High School, continued her education, graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1960.  She was a teacher in the Gill-Montague District serving at the Montague Center, Hillcrest and Sheffield Schools, during her 24 years retiring in 1997.  For 16 of those year, it was my honor to know Connie as a colleague and friend.  She brought excitement, creativity and great joy to the ‘third grade team’.

As an educator, Connie was committed to the students that walked through her door. She made every effort to instill pride in who they were and help them see who they could become.

In honor of her devotion to the education of students, the GMEF is proud to present a scholarship to a senior who will be pursuing a career in/or associated with Social Justice, Community Involvement or Education
